Mike Jackson grew up in Penn Hills on the East side of the city. The first station he was ever on in the city was The University of Pittsburgh’s WPTS when he was 16. Jax interned at (the former) WAMO in 1996 and got the chance to go from addicted fan to behind the scenes and behind the mic.
He got the nickname "The Mayor" at his alma mater Penn State University where he hosted shows on two different radio stations and DJ'd some of the wildest parties he’s ever seen to this day. He went from spinning house parties for free to DJing the biggest parties and clubs across the country, all while graduating on time. Since then Jax has broadcasted in five different states across the country. He’s had the pleasure to endorse companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cricket Wireless, McDonalds, KFC and Toyota just to name a few. Mike Jax says “It's a real dream come true to be able to come back home to Pittsburgh to be a part of WAMO 100.” Join “The Mayor” weekdays from 3pm to 7pm for your drive home on Pittsburgh's New Home for Hip Hop and Hottest Hits, WAMO 100.

Terrence "Kode Wred" Oxendine is extremely passionate about music and the business of radio. A club DJ since '86, he caught the radio bug in '96 when fellow on air personality Tee Jay took him on a tour of the radio station meeting the greats along the way. Greatly inspired by the legends Sly Jock, Melle Mel, Nick Nice, and Dre Ski, he knew that this is where he needed to be. Starting as a intern in promotions and quickly rising as a on-air personality, doing every day part on FM and the AM station. His big break came when he was called to fill in the "Quiet Storm" time slot, which is still widely popular in listeners memories. The Quiet Storm was his "signature" show and to have a mass amount of people still asking him to do it again brings a joy to his heart that is indescribable. "To leave a stamp on the listeners memories should be the goal of everyone who does radio." He has achieved that goal. To precede greats like Ron "The Night Time Dog" Chavis, and John Anthony is a tremendous honor. He still feels like there is a lot more to be done in his career and refuses to give in to all the changes radio has gone through over the years. "Change is inevitable. The challenge is adapting to the change", which he has successfully done graciously and will continue to do so. "I love what I do, but it's the listeners that make what I do so enjoyable". You can hear Kode Wred on air Saturday's 3-7PM and Sunday's 1-5pm!
In 1992, popular music culture was forever changed when two brothers from Bakersfield, CA joined Power 106 in Los Angeles. The most authoritative show on the radio, The Baka Boyz radio program, “Friday Night Flavas”, contributed to the rise of hip hop in Los Angeles, bringing it from depths of late night programming to the light of mainstream radio and the coveted morning show slot. The Baka Boyz influence expanded way past their expertise as DJs when they remixed Grammy nominated Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks”. The Baka Boyz also remixed T-Pain and Ne-yo’s “Turn All the Lights On”, J. Cole’s “Work Out”, The Offspring’s “Pretty Fly for a White Guy”, and Beyonce’s “Love on Top”. And, their west coast classic “Pistol Grip Pump” was covered by Rage Against the Machine.
